The Rome Police Department is staffed by
6 Patrol Officers, and 1 Chief, 365 days a year. During the Summer we
are staffed also by 4 part time ATV and Boat Patrol Officers.
All of our
officers are required to have 24 hours of training a year to keep their
officer status. About 12 of the 24 required hours of training are conducted
here by our officers who are certified instructors.
Police Chief - Adam Grosz -

After receiving an
Associate Degree in Police Science from Fox Valley Technical College, Chief
Grosz joined the Rome Police Department in 1997 as a part-time boat patrol
officer. He was promoted full-time in 1998. In 2005 Chief Grosz earned a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the
University of Phoenix. Chief Grosz enjoys serving the community of Rome and
is looking forward to leading the police department into the future.
Chief Grosz lives in the
Lake Camelot area with his wife and two children.
Sergeant - Jason Lauby #82 -

Jason has lived in the Wisconsin Rapids area all his life. After graduating
from Lincoln High School in 1993, he attended Mid-State Technical College
and graduated in 1996 with an Associate Degree in Police Science. Jason is
currently taking classes towards a
Bachelors of Science in
Criminal Justice Administration Degree from the University of Phoenix. Jason was
hired as a part-time officer in July of 1999 and was promoted to full-time
status in October of 1999. Jason is the department's Emergency Vehicle
Operators Course Instructor. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing,
and water skiing.

Jason is originally from the State of
Minnesota. He most recently moved to the Rome area from Madison, Wisconsin
where he was employed by the Dane County Sheriff's Department as Deputy
Sheriff. Jason received an Associate in Science degree in Law Enforcement
from Century College, and two certificates in Law Enforcement, Minneapolis
Community Technical College, and Madison Area Technical College. He is
married and enjoys hunting, fishing, and watching hockey.
