Services: We are a full service Police Department, conducting our own police investigations and doing what we can to better insure the safety of the people of Rome. We have 24 hour, 7 day a week services.

There is an Administrative Assistant, located in the Rome Municipal building, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm to answer the telephone for the Police Department. The Assistant can forward messages to on-duty Patrol Officers right away during these times. If you would like to talk to an Officer after hours, leave a message on the answering machine and an Officer will contact you immediately upon hearing your message.

1st Responders
Town of Rome Police Officers have been equipped with Defibrillators in their squads since late 2000.

October 28, 2002 the Department recorded it's first save. Officer Adam Grosz responded to a medical call of a non-responsive victim and upon arrival, found a 64-year old victim with no pulse. He connected the victim to the defibrillator, was advised to prepare to shock and administered one shock. After the AED advised no shock, Adam found a radial pulse and continued to monitor the victim until the arrival of Rome Rescue and the Nekoosa Ambulance, who then took care of the victim. Adam returned to the Rome Police Station, printed the event log and faxed his report to the Riverview Hospital Emergency room. As a result of Adam's action, this person is alive today. At the November 14, 2002 Town Board Meeting, Adam was recognized by the Town of Rome for his efforts. He also  received a letter and T-shirt from the company the makes the defibrillators in recognition of his effort and save.
