Administrative Assistant/Municipal Court Clerk Position Description

The Town of Rome is currently seeking a minimum of eight hours per month position to assist the Administrative Assistant/Municipal Court Clerk.  The position could experience more hours per month when filling in during absences of the Municipal Clerk and for special projects.  The purpose of this position is to assist the Municipal Clerk in planning, coordinating, and directing operations of the municipal court, along with working with the Police Chief as a confidential secretary.  

While weekly hours for the position will vary, with a minimum guarantee of eight hours per month, the maximum hours will not exceed 20 hours per week when assisting with absences or completing a special project.

High school diploma required, experience in a public surrounding, law and law enforcement extremely helpful, must pass a background check and have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.  Notary Public certificate is a plus.

Part-time/Seasonal Public Works Equipment Operator Position Description

The Town of Rome is currently seeking part-time/seasonal Public Works Equipment Operators. The position is responsible for operating all department equipment and vehicles, and will perform both skilled and manual labor which aids in the maintenance of the Town’s facilities and roads.

Essential functions of the position vary depending on season. Summer season includes helping with maintenance, such as ditch and lawn mowing, lawn care and Building & Grounds cleaning/upkeep. Assisting at area parks and with the Transfer Site operations would also be required.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. One-year experience operating heavy equipment and power tools, and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is strongly preferred or the ability to obtain a CDL within six-months of starting employment. The Town would assist with training and necessary driving hours to obtain a CDL. The Town will not reimburse testing or license expenses related to obtaining a CDL.

The rate of pay for this position is $17.00 an hour. Dyracuse Recreational Area Attendant Position Description

The Town of Rome is seeking individuals to work at Dyracuse Recreational Area as Attendants on a part time basis from late March through the end of October. Personnel are required to work both weekdays and weekends on rotation and must be at least 18 years of age. The rate of pay for this position is $13.26 an hour.

Attendants must be able to work with figures and handle money, communicate effectively with the public, provide excellent customer service, handle emergency situations, and maintain control of park use by enforcing the rules set forth.

Attendants must be physically able to perform the job duties; walking and/or climbing on uneven terrain, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Attendants must hold a valid drivers license.
